hi,

usually I check the ripped vobs with dvd2avi. I think
I 've never seen this before. The movie is Predator (RC1).
Frame Rate is 29,97 fps
Frame Type is progressive
Video Type = Film 99%
Well, but this changes sometimes (well very seldomly and only in the second half of the movie) to 98% Film or 2% NTSC.

Can s.o. explain this to me plz (seems like ivtc needed ?!)
and tell me the right settings for dvd2svcd. I live in europe and want to make a pal svcd out of this.

Regards,

Mike

if you have dvd2svcd set to automatic then it will choose for you what you need to do.. and when it is film > 95% you use the force film option instead of ivtc.

I had a few movies do that to me before (the worst being Stargate Special Edition R1). I'm not sure why it does this, though i think it has something to do with mixed pulldown flags and field swapping. On most dvds that this happened to me on ForceFilm produced perfect output(sometimes having to choose swap fields also), but Stargate had to be IVTCed manually. For some reason the IVTC pattern shifted by one frame every so many frames, so after about ten minutes the rest of the movie was badly 'interlaced'...
