I am trying to take a whole anime series and put it on half the dvds (from 8 to 3 or 4), I will transcode the video in CCE to get the bitrate way down but I'm wondering If I can then have more then one dvd's worth of episodes for a dvd without having to rebuild the menu and subs and all that. I haven't tried it yet and I'm just wondering if any1 else has and if it's a waste of time or totally plausable

You would have to create new menus in order to select the new material. I would suggest that you buy some of the double sided
DVD-R media (assuming that you have a DVD-R burner) and just do a 1:1 copy of one disc on each side.

They are $5 each and would be a lot easier. I think they are a bit back logged but from what I hear their media is really good stuff.

in this case you must re-author the disc.. putting 2 DVDs onto one DVD-R requires major changes in the menu structure that only an authoring program will allow you to do.

Is there a good Authoring program that allows you to import the actual VOB files?

When I split up dual layered discs onto 2 dvd-rs that I might like to do something like this because I HATE wasting 3.5gb or so on the second DVD. I think this would be a decent solution.

none I'm aware off.. the ones I have guides for certainly don't allow that and I don't think ther's any (but I wouldn't bet my computer on it).

That is what I thought. It takes too much time and effort, in my opinion, to split up the vob files and then remux them later, I guess I would rather waste space on the dvd..

thanks,

it's the updated version of Quickbuilder.
