The Discovery Atlas Australia HD DVD doesen't play with a
Software player.I tried with Jap Win DVDHD,PWDVD 6.5 and
PWDVD 7,1 Ultra. What i heard it also doesen't play on the
newer Toshibas standalone players. It works only with the A1.
AnyDVDHD is not working to with this HDDVD.

So i used the USB sniffer as described in this thread and found
the following VID:

Code:

00000000: 00 22 00 00 40 00 38 30 29 a6 c7 6c e9 eb 64 bd
00000010: 7a 1c 00 00 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
00000020: xx xx xx xx

Then i tried to open the mkb exe tool.
But there is only a black window visible for a very short time.

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong or is ther another way
to calculate the VUK ?

This is also the first HDDVD i couldn't get the VUK with Win DVD.

The mkb tool is a command line tool, you need to open a command prompt and use it from there. the syntax is:

mkb.exe [Path to MKBROM.AACS] [VID (no spaces)]

I did open a command prompt:
C:\>mkb.exe> f: 4000383029ABC76CE9EB64BD7A1C0000

I also tried some different version with small letters in the VID
or i did copy the mkbrom file in a folder or started the VID with
0022000040...
But i always got the message : Access is denied.

I did open a command prompt:
C:\>mkb.exe> f: 4000383029ABC76CE9EB64BD7A1C0000

Try:

mkb.exe f:\AACS\MKBROM.AACS 4000383029ABC76CE9EB64BD7A1C0000

Thanks a lot , with your version it worked at once !
The result: AA5CDE50D72E9E469CFE7F49EC2D1762

The next problem is that on this HDDVD the filenames are
different to all other Discs i have. There is no VTKF000.AACS
file.It's called VTKF.AACS.
When i start BackupHDDVD following message is comming out:
Could not find keyfile f:\aacs\VTKF000.AACS.

So the next try is to copy the HDDVD to Harddisc, rename
the VTKF.AACS to VTKF000.AACS and start decrypting from
Harddisc.Will post results later.

With the renamed VTKF000.AACS file, BackupHDDVD did
start as it should. But the decrypted EVO Files are not
working, when i try to play them, there is only black screen and
no sound. So the VUK must be wrong.
I double checked all my inputs, but couldn't find a mistake.
If so ,this HDDVD can't be decrypted with the known processing
key!!

Notice that pdvd is in the file mode instead of bringing up a menu, this may be the key. It does play on my HD-A1.

Based on the comments at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Discovery-Atlas-Australia-Revealed/dp/B000JRYP0K), Discovery Atlas Australia and Discovery Atlas Italy are not playing back in most players.

Is the entire difference from "normal" disks consists of just the change in filename from VTKF000.AACS to VTKF.AACS? Because if yes, I can easily patch BackupHDDVD source to take an optional argument for the location of the VTKF file.

Can you try evdberg's validatevuk (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=948778&postcount=1) tool with the VUK you obtained from mkb?

It is also a command line tool. From DOS prompt:
validatevuk f: AA5CDE50D72E9E469CFE7F49EC2D1762

If that fails, it is possible that there is a typo somewhere in the volume ID that was provided to mkb. First 8 bytes of the volume ID are easily recoverable. Last 8 are harder.

There are 3 main folders on this HDDVD: AACS , AACS_BAK
and HVDVD_TS.There is no ADV_OBJ Folder.
In the HVDVD_TS folder are only 3 kind of files:IFO , BUB and EVO.
In the AACS Folder there is no VTUF.AACS File like in other Discs.
When i did copy the Disc content to harddisc ,renamed the
VTKF.AACS to VTKF000.AACS BackupHDDVD worked as usual.
So if it's easy to patch i could try decrypting direct from Disc.

I used the validatevuk tool . It says Vuk NOT Valid .
I will sniff the VID again and check for typo.

It seems i was to tired for proper double checking yesterday.
I found the typo.Because i wrote with small letters i mixed up
B and 6 .
Here is the correct VID: 4000383029A6C76CE9EB64BD7A1C0000

And the VUK: 85829975BD0C258EC6E95FCE18BCBEEB

The validatevuk tool confirmed that this VUK is ok !

The decrypting is ok now. Thanks everyone for there help.
The main movie has 12 files. The total size is 11 Gb.There is no
ADV_OBJ Folder with DISCID.DAT and VPLST000.XPL Files.
Does somebody know how to change the structure with
IFO ,BUB and EVO Files so the main movie plays as one?

I searched the VUK with Winhex in Windvd again and despite
that WinDVD couldn't play a thing, the VUK is in the memory.
It was found 2 times. One line above in the text field
are these letters : DVD_HD_V_TFK
When the textsearch is used these letters where found about
9 times.

You cant switch subtitles and audio tracks in Canal Studio releases, because some moron wrote XPL for them - they all marked as non selectable :(

To correct that open XPL and find all occurances of "selectable=false" and make it "selectable=true".
Now you can change subtitles and audio tracks in PDVD.

Thanks for this information.
The Discovery Atlas Australia HDDVD has no ADV_OBJ Folder
and the main movie is splited in 12 files. There are only IFO ,
BUB and EVO files.Do you have any idea how to play the
12 files as one movie with PWDVD?

Have you tried "Open HD-DVD from hard drive" or whatever the wording is?

How do you mean? Doesn't it copy the files to the hard drive?

.
AnyDVDHD is not working to with this HDDVD.

If i insert a usual HDDVD and AnyDVDHD is installed the
foldernames are changed.
When the Disc. Atlas Australia HDDVD is in the Drive the
foldernames are not changed! They are identical as without
AnyHDDVD.You can copy these folders to Harddrive but the
Evo files aren't decrypted.

If i decrypt with BackupHDDVD and open DVD from Harddrive with PWDVDUltra
the copyright titel starts to play and then PWDVD freezes.
The only thing who can be done is to close PWDVD.

With Win DVDHD i can doubleclick a IFO File and the
copyright title plays and then the titel with menu background
plays. This menue titel is repeating forever without the
possibility to start the movie.

With Pwdvd 6.5 there is a black screen where you can see
the menue options and then it's crashing.
The same behaviour when doubleclicking a IFO File
or when open HDDVD from Harddrive.
