I'm encoding some of my backed up HD-DVD's to DivX so they will fit on a stadard double layer DVD, however, I was wondering if HD-DVD or Bluray players can play an HD DivX movie from a DVD disc? My DVD player outputs 1080p through the HDMI output, however, it will only play DivX files with a screen resolution of 720x576 or smaller. Does anyone know if there are even DVd players which can handle an HD resolution DivX file?

HD DiVX certified DVD players like JVC, Phillips and Yamaha.
Only DIVX 6.4 and up will support 1080p.

Hi there,
How are you converting the EVO files to Divx? A little guide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
