I must be brainfarting from too much programming but wanted to ask a, probably, simple question. When a DVD has angles/ILVUs, what PUOps must be kept in order for the DVD to be problem free when removing PUOps?

If I remember correctly, you don't want to alter/remove the VOB PUOs...

Hi 2COOL!!

Angle change for sure.

The +/- scans are OK and I suspect the menu calls are fine, too.

That's what I thought too. I was going to do a test but got lazy. :(

@mpucoder

Is this right for PUOps precendence?

vobu_uop_ctl > PGC > vmg_tt_srpt

The PUOps are ORed together from the various sources. So, there is not really a precedence. If a PUO is set somewhere, its operation will be prohibited, even if the same PUO is not set elsewhere.

In order to avoid the angle icon displayed by some players, you should set (or leave) the Angle Change PUO either in the VOB or in the PGC. Personally, I prefer to clear all VOB PUOs, as it is not easy to control them individually, and set them in the IFOs. However, in the VOBs, it is possible to set the PUOs at the cell level, and even at the VOBU level. In the IFOs, they are global to the PGC (or Title.)

Note that the GoUp PUO is theoretically ignored in the IFOs, and must therefore be kept in the VOBs, although I'm sure almost all players take also the GoUp PUO of the IFO into account.

Thanks r0lz!

as it is not easy to control them individuallyYou are right but it's not impossible. ;) I hope to change this soon.

@2COOL - you are aware that the PUO plugin to PgcEdit now allows you to remove VOB PUops selectively? However, it goes thru the whole DVD and not on a cell or VOBU basis.

Yes, I know. I wanted to have full control on setting any PUOp (Title, PGC, or VOB). I'm almost there if it weren't for spontaneous higher priorities.

2COOL, are you making something to go with PgcEdit or a separate tool?

Separate. It was a personal project I started since last summer.

Good to hear! I have something like that on my todo list too, but I have so many other things to do first...!
