Hi,
I have a 27 inch viewsonic lcd with 720 vertical resolution. I ordered a 8800 gts gfx card for my new rig. i wonder how limiting this screen is for it. i have 2 main questions:
-would i be able to set resolution in games higher than that?
-will it look better if i do so or not?
and a third one :)
-will 1080 video look better than 720 on this screen?
thank you

You wouldn't want to set games any higher than the screen's physical resolution. It doesn't look as bad as it used to, with newer drivers, but it'll still look blurry. You're better off cranking AA and everything else, since the resolution isn't going to push an 8800 at all.

For 1080 vs 720 on a 720, there's a few factors, but the answer is almost always no, you'll never be able to tell which is which. The only difference would be if it's actually one of those with 768, not 720, but even that's a stretch.
