IMGBurn and HD DVDs

Although the poster is not able to playback successfully, it appears that IMGBurn is able to copy .EVO files without generating errors.

How is this possible?

Are .EVO files copy protected?

It's surprising to me (in light of "ARccOS" and "RipGuard", etc. for conventional DVDs), but then again, lots of things are surprising to me ;>}
