I don't know where I should leave this thread? maybe IFO Edit, maybe DVD authoring.

When I watch Open Season NTSC and Trust The Man NTSC DVDs with Windows Media Player(WMP) and WinDVD, main menus of them are interlaced, it means when an object moves, it leaves lines and this makes me feel bad, but when I open these menus with Media Player Classic(MPC), everything was fine, no more interlaced material.
I can't move from WMP and WinDVD to MPC because MPC isn't good at all such as no subpic feature, menu is fine but main movie is interlaced:confused:
I tried to edit some properties of VTS_01_0.IFO (main menu and movie) such as CC for Line 21(don't know what it means),Aspect Ratio...but Menu still interlaced:(
Or I should re-encode these menu with CCE, but I don't know how to move commands and menu buttons to new re-encoded cells?

Thanks

You can't change that easily. If a menu is interlaced, you have to demux it, process the m2v file with a deinterlace filter, and reencode it. Much work, and reencoding a menu pauses many problems with the menu buttons.

BTW, MPC can display the subpics. It is undoubtedly a better player than WMP or WinDVD!

A very strange. WinDVD must be able to remove (mask) any interlacing artefacts. Last versions have a DNM (Digital Natural Motion) function, which processed a video and improved a psychovisual perception. I don't use WinDVD but IMHO it is a very good choice. Maybe you just not tuned your WinDVD. Find a deinterlace section/tab and try to change a deinterlacing method from "weave" to eg. "bob", if it is exist.

Another good software player is PowerDVD from Cyberlink. I have never seen a "stripped" pictures on it.

These two players are best for watch a DVD materials on PC.
