Hi.. when i use DVD2AVI for extract the sound (AC3) my file name is
"ENGLISH AC3 T05 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY -297ms.ac3"

3_2 mean 5.1 sound et 448 is the quality in kbps but the
DELAY -297ms) what about that...

Thx ! :-)

It means the start of audio in the AC3 file is offset from the start of video in the d2v file.

You need to compensate for the delay, either when converting the AC3 to wav/mp#, or when you mux the audio back in with the video, depending on what tools you use. If you don't compensate, your audio will not be in sync (and 297 ms will be very noticable).

I can't remember if a negative delay means the sound leads the video or lags behind it.

I use virtualdub (or nandub) for mux the video with audio
and i dont know what the best setting in INTERLEAVING
My ac3 have a 192kbps and is a 27ms delay
my probleme is when i mux the video i have a DivX with ac3 sound
but when i play with Media Player the sound have a delay but the video work very smooth! :-).. and when i use PowerDivX i have a perfect sound but the video play choppy (lag).... :-(

Is it normal that pretty much every thing I rip has an AC3 delay of -66ms?
