View Full Version : Getting PDVD 7.2 to playback rips with Intel GMA chipset

PDVD 6.5 works fine for playback of HD-DVDs backed up with the C# GUI version of backupHD-DVD, but 7.1/7.2 won't as it says incompatible graphics driver (onboard intel graphics).
I thought ripping the discs would finally allow playback, so is it the version 7.1/7.2 app that is broken or the rips themselves?
Is there anyway to turn off the graphics card check function in PDDVD?

Although PDVD 6.5 and WinDVD8-HD work with Intel graphics chipsets, PDVD 7.x complains. I suspect, if the check were disabled, 7.x would work too.

I suspect this would be the case as well. Hopefully someone on the forum has the smarts or knowledge to accomplish this.
Restrictions on using your own content on your own adequate equipment is very frustrating!

I think, 7.1/7.2 need hardver accelerating capable video driver.
They're checking this, not the HDCP capability.

Actually they are checking the HDCP in PowerDVD7.2. My Geforce7800GTX is "non compliant" (DVD-D->HDMI 1.2 cable to a 65" 1080p DLP). 6.5 plays fine

Actually they are checking the HDCP in PowerDVD7.2.
Even for a non-AACS disc or decrypted files? Why would 7.2 check in these two cases with Intel graphics when non-HDCP Nvidia cards work okay? Intel graphics does not work in any case--protected or not protected.

I'm using PDVD 7.2 on my old 6600GT and it's working fine so I suspect that PDVD isn't actually checking the HDCP chain. It complained about my video drivers but didn't care at all about my card. Once I updated to 92.91+ it quit complaining.

Just for kicks disable Hardware Acceleration (http://www.deskshare.com/Resources/articles/dmc_turnoffhardwareacceleration.aspx) for video rendering and see what happens.

Just for kicks disable Hardware Acceleration (http://www.deskshare.com/Resources/articles/dmc_turnoffhardwareacceleration.aspx) for video rendering and see what happens. It doesn't help with Intel graphics.

@t00ld00d: PowerDVD 6.5 doesn't get past the first play title on my PC (non HDCP capable 7800GT).. it bitches about protected content. Same thing with PowerDVD 7.1 and WinDVD8 (for more details see here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=123048)

In powerdvd 7.3 all the advisor stuff, the different install is all gone now (just setup.exe now).
They have also removed the no screenshot feature:

Maybe they are more tolerant on different videocards now too? Try it please.

No different, still won't run, also now I can't use my firegl card - incompatible graphics driver (0012).
There must be a way to turn off the checking machanism, or to feed it an answer so it thinks it is OK.
