View Full Version : AutoGK VOB to AVI problem

Hello, complete beginner here!
Trying to convert my DVD collection onto hard drive in DivX format!
So using DVD shrink, i've extracted .VOB, which play back with no problems. Then trying to convert to .AVI with AutoGK, after about 10mins I get;
Video compression error.
Source Image format not acceptable. error code 2!
It actually ran all the way through once and that film plays fine, which makes it all the more frustrating. But I can't reproduce that result!
I've only tried adjusting basic compression setting and there's plenty of memory(all done on external hard-drive), i've downloaded the latest DivX codec etc.
Any guidance or help much appreciated,http://forum.doom9.org/images/smilies/confused.gif
:confused:
Thanks Pogo

Hi!

For a possibly simpler-to-use solution, you might want to try using MPEGMediator instead of AutoGK...

Hi and welcome to the forum,

1/Please post your autogk logfile so we can figure out what's happening.

2/ You stated you used DvdShrink to extract VOB; to get Shrink output to work as input for Autogk you need to use the "Reauthor mode". Have you done that ?

@Setarip_old, I'm not sure Mpegmediator is "simpler-to-use" but I will let it rest for now until I can compare both ease of use.

@BigDid

It's only "pogopogo's" opinion that will count here. That's why I said:For a possibly simpler-to-use solution ;>}

Thanks for guidance.
I'll try Mpegmediator later in week and let you know how I got along.
BigDig, If I have no luck i'll try again with autogk and post the logfile. I used Reauthor in DVDShrink and have followed the tutorial.
Thanks again, Pogopogo

Thanks again. Been advised it could be codec related, and instead of just updating AutoGK codec, I should completely remove it and then reload afresh. Made no sense to me but it seems to have worked.
I'll make my next problem more interesting.
Cheers
