Hi,

just read Doom9's guide on chapters and VCDEasy. Am I incorrect in assuming that the whole thing doesn't work when you have to split your MPG files into multiples (which you almost always have to do)?

It would appear as if CHapterextractor's data will be useless on the second and following CDs.

Any comments?

didn't I mention start and end offsets for the chapterpoints? I'm pretty damned sure I did.. that's the whole key to it.

Darn,

you are right. I obviously scanned the whole thing too quickly (I presume you didn't change it later).

Yes, there is a note about offsets in there. I'll give it a shot.

Thanks for the reply.

Ok,

I followed the guide now. I burned and have a readable CD. I got some warnings about the entry points (that it was picking the closest possible) but my player doesn't recognize the chapters (it is chapter-capable).

So I fire up WinDVD and it also only shows me one chapter.

Any ideas what might be the problem?

no chapters on all CDs? can you paste eventual errors you got during the build process? I have some problems with my player (thomson dth5000) and dual audio and subs but chapters always work fine with vcdeasy.

Try turning on PBC, I had to with my player, and my brothers (both Apex).

Find it in the options tab, check box named 'Use Playback Control'.

That was it. You have to turn on PBC. Not only for my player (APEX as well) but also WinDVD.

Might be worthwhile to mention in the guide.

Thanks a lot.

guess what.. I made all my test disc with that parameter enabled but I didn't think it was a requirement so I didn't mention it in the guide.. but I soon will.
