I have a slew of AVI's and I want to mux them into an MP4 so i can include both srt subs and chapters. I used YAMB with OGG text for chapter info and .srt subs. MPC will play chapters but no subs (no matter what I set for rendering) and VLC will play subs but no chapters. Does anyone have any ideas? Should I use something other than YAMB to mux; Use different format for chapter info; A different player?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

I found a solution. I can use Media Player Classic to play my SubRip subs (.srt) as long as they are named exactley the same and are not with in the MP4 container. So for the chapters to work, I muxed the AVI (I created with Auto GK) with the OGG txt file of the chapters (ripped with DVD Decrypter) (MPC always played them fine) using YAMB. So with both MP4 file and the .srt Sub file with the same names with in in the same folder, Media Player Classic will play them. I would love to have all three files within the same container, but beggers can be choosers.

Correction: The subs are playing because DirectVobSub is kicking in. The subs will play with any player that can use the plug-in. I'm wondering if the .srt need to be in another code orther than ANSI for MPC to play them. At least for now I can still get both chapters and subs even if it isn't perfect. I can for now just mux the .srt file in with the AVI and OGG files and keep a copy of the .srt file with in the same folder.

In my experience with muxing srt's into mp4's with YAMB, they are not set to display by default, you have to manually turn them on.

Also if your using Halli's splitter, then setting it to autoload VSFilter will help you to get subs displayed when using overlay.
