first, i want to thank everyone for shareing their knowledge on this forum, please be patient with me. i am using dvd4free, and am having trouble with the figuring out the program. how do i burn the dvds once i have it on my hard drive? do i just paste the files onto the blank dvd? and when it comes down to dvd-9, i tried to copy a dvd using the iso read and write mode. when i copied a dvd everything seemed to work but when i put it in my personal dvd player it won't play. i will appreciate any input.

Welcome to Doom9.
First, this program is way outa date. The latest in ripping technology is RipIt4Me (http://www.ripit4me.org/).
Secondly, playback issues are usually a sign of a bad burn. Make sure your firmware is up to date and you are using top quality media (Verbatim/Taiyo Yuden).

For a freeware solution, second to none.
Try ImgBurn (http://imgburn.com/)

Hi!when i copied a dvd everything seemed to work but when i put it in my personal dvd player it won't play. This may be a problem of media compatibility - Not all players play all brands (or formats) of burnable media.
To determine the capabilities/limitations of your specific brand and model of standalone DVD player, as well as media compatibility, go to:

Does the burned DVD play properly on your PC?

i have memorex dvd+r dl.Based on many posts at this forum and others, presently, the only consistently reliable DL (DVD9) burnable media has been and is Verbatim DL DVD+R...
