Is there a PVR or Tv tuner that has a hardware encoding to H.264.
Plextor has Mpeg4 and Divx, any one making one for H.264

i dont believe anyone is (at least on the hardware encoding side).

on the decoding side, new media players may begin to support h.264, definately in bluray players (content on bluray is either vc-1 or h.264). i know there are a few h.264 decoding chips out there, but they are not very cheap.

if you want h.264 in your living room that bad, your gonna have to go with an HTPC  .

oh, and i forgot to mention, i think hd-dvd is also using h.264 on their discs.

so if you wait it out for the hd-dvd bluray war to settle out, you may be able to burn your h.264 encoded media to a disc you can play in your living room (sans computer).
