Aligning alternate Audio with Video with Vegas

I have a raw avi video with the audio from the vhs tape open in Sonic Foundry Vegas Video 3.0 and I've added a couple wave files from 2 cdrs. I'm trying to align the audio with the video. If I start at the beginning, I can align them perfectly but by the end of the wav file, the sound is off. So the video and the alternate audio is not played at the same pitch. Can anyone please tell me how to "stretch" the video to align the audio and video so they play together?
