anyplace out ther to find , lets say , a not so honest version of cce?
also dvd2svcd worked perfect for me besides the cce symbol on the movie . This also leads me to another question regarding the time it takes to create an svcd. It took me like almost 2 days nonstop 100% cpu power to encode. Is this because of the cce symbol taking up extra space to encode . I dont think its my cpu (p4 1.4GHz , 384Mb rd ram and so forth) IF i got the retail version of cce would this cut down to like 5hrs which is what it should be or am i doin something wrong ? Also the files that were created were like 2 megs over cd size , what the hell is up with that? Thanks very much.
P.S. The movie encoded was like 3.5 hours long !

i can understand why no one will budge with the cce thing , i can find the full version myself but the newbie forum doesnt say much about my speed problem . All i got was this-----
"This varies with the aspect ratio of the disk being backed up, but normally, completes the 3 pass process in 7 to 12 hours. CBR mode is single pass. It can encode as fast or faster than real-time on a 1.4+ mhz machine but most agree quality will be slightly less than multipass unless the bitrate is very high. DVD2SVCD works while you sleep"
And the file size proble is because the bitrate calculator obviously didnt do a good job , so i will just have to dl a different one , no biggie.

check out Q4. If you doing 5 pass then yes it's feasible if your movie is doing IVTC than yes. I've done a 3 pass (Sound of Music) which took like 33 hours on a PIII 450. What's your CCE RT? see Q61 I think it is.

here's part of the readme.txt
"USAGE:
- The program should be pretty straight forward. But if you're a complete newbie
take a look at this page: http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvd2svcd.htm
- If you're a first time user do this:
0. Install the software bundle
1. On the "DVD rip" tab enable DVD Ripping and select Internal Ripping
2. Insert a DVD into your DVD drive
3. On the "Conversion" tab, hit the CD picture
4. Hit go
5. Wait..... and keep on waiting (probably between 12 - 24 hours)
6. When DVD2SVCD is done, you'll have 2 or more BIN/CUE files. I recommend using Fireburner to burn those images to CD's."

Well in my despair i tryed using another guide for conversion and it seemed to work flawlessly , so i think i'll keep with that way instead. Though i think dvd2svcd is an ingenious program , minus the one and only commercial piece of software needed among loads of freeware, it would have led to me throwing my monitor out the 2nd floor window.
THx a lot.
