I just upgraded to HDCP moniter, and HDCP gpu. Now my next step is for a HD drive of some kind.
My question to you is, im perfectly content with using DVDS for backing up data.
I know you can buy just DVD-ROMS. Can you buy or will they have BR-ROMS? and HD-DVD ROMS? Devices without the burning capabilities.
Thanks. And if so are there any out right now except for the XboX addon drive?

Hi!Can you buy or will they have BR-ROMS? and HD-DVD ROMS? Devices without the burning capabilities.I believe it's very likely - If I remember correctly, there is already a SONY laptop available that includes such hardware...

The only BluRay ROM discs I know that are out are the game discs for the PS3, since they're all BluRay discs AFAIK. HD-DVD ROMs are basically your HD-DVD movies on a ROM disc, since that's all DVD movies ever were / still are, data files on a ROM disc.
Regarding drives, there are no BR ROM drives out, since they would be about as expensive as normal BR drives, with the writing capabilities. You're still better off IMO with HD-DVD cause the drives are cheaper (you've mentioned the XBox 360 HD-DVD addon, which is a very good value HD-DVD ROM drive ;)) and so are the standalone players.
