Evening all,
Was just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the following little issue:
I use imgburn when i have modified a dvd title and need to burn it without the DVD playing up at the LB, because, as we all know Nero cant hack it even with the latest release.
The problem i seem to have is that burned with IMGBurn my new (well not so new now) pioneer DV-696av seems to struggle to make up its mind that i have inserted a DVD, once it has it plays like a dream. If i burn the same DVD using Nero it loads almost instantly, and plays ok apart from the LB change.

Hi!
1) Did you use the same D/L media (hopefully, Verbatim D/L DVD+R) for both burns?
2) Did you burn both at the same speed?
3) How many choices (and what color "stars") did IMGBurn offer for the suggested layerbreak location?

Thanks for the reply
Hi!

2) Did you burn both at the same speed? Yes
3) How many choices (and what color "stars") did IMGBurn offer for the suggested layerbreak location? The LB was fine, even though i had 2 choices

I'd strongly suggest you use ONLY Verbatim D/L DVD+R media, as the MANY postings at this and other forums indicate that, presently, it's the only consistently reliable D/L media...

They are:
Disc ID: RICOHJPN-D00-01
Book Type: DVD+R DL
The fact they play ok would suggest there not to bad.
The issue i'm questioning is given everything is the same apart from the software used to record the DVD, what could be causing the DVD player to take noticably longer to load the DVD when recorded with IMGburn?
The obvious answer would be something different happens in the way each program writes the data?

The fact they play ok would suggest there not to bad.But possible inconsistency of manufacture from one disc to another (in the same batch) could account for the faster loading of one burned DVD versus the other - regardless of burning software used...
As we've all learned, when it comes to burning media, "the obvious answer" is not always the right one ;>}
Perhaps, if you get these same conflicting results more than once, you might conclude that the difference is related to the software.

LOL
I have come round to thinking it may well but individual disks, the last one i burned with IMGBurn loaded quickly,
but I am one person, you are many! SO was worth asking the question.
Thanks for the replies

check your first play doesn't point to layer 1. pioneers can have trouble with that.
though there may be something else at play here - i've seen a similar problem with Imgburn and a pioneer player of the same vintage, but wasn't able to reproduce it or narrow the error down to one thing specifically.
