mplayer 5.1 dolby dts

I have 5.1 dolby dts speaker system.
Whenever I play a file mplayer only show 2 channel audio output.
How I can configure it to play in 5.1 channel mode with full dts hardware accelaration.

check the man pages for more info.

That is for analog 5.1 output. To transfer the audio stream through S/PDIF to an external decoder, you need to setup passthough.
