Hello,

I'd like to cut a video in two. And I'd like to merge two videos in one. But I do not want to use the .WMV format, so I cannot use Windows Movie Maker. Is there any alternative software that would cut and merge in .AVI format?

Thanks

virtualdub can cut and merge avi files !

the merge fuction (append avi segment) will allow to merge two or more avi files if these avi files have all the same specification: width, height, audio (cbr/vbr), codec...

If your videos are in DV format, you can use Windows Movie Maker and create AVI files.

Thanks BHH, I will try virtualdub.

John Miller, I don't know what is DV format.

Setarip_old, some videos are AVI and some are MPEG1.
