View Full Version : House Season 2 Disk 1 - How Authored?

I'll treat this as a newbie question.

I'm trying to make heads or tails out of the way this DVD (House S2 D1) was authored. With most of the other disks, there exists a single title which has the 4 episodes chained together, so that I can reauthor (e.g. with DVD Shrink) and end up with a single VOB with the episodes.

With Disk 1 however, there isn't such a title. Under the Main Movie group, there are 7 titles (#1,2,4,5,6,7,9), where titles 1 and 2 appear identical, 4,5 and 6 appear identical, and there's an episode (title 8) under Extras.

So I figure that DVD Shrink got confused. Hey, that happens. So here's the newbie-ish question: The DVD's Root menu itself contains a "Play All" menu item. How can I figure out (perhaps with IfoEdit?) what the player does when that menu item is chosen, and -- ideally -- stream out a VOB with that content?

Answering my own question. It is simply an unusally authored disk. IfoEdit was helpful, it identified the title sequence that "Play All" triggers; turns out it's: title 2 (single episode), title 5 (single episode), title 9 (two episodes together). I still can't completely divine why the disk was authored that way, seems I would have to dig deeply into the PGCs to figure out what distinguishes certain titles from one another.
