Hi,
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I rip a DVD to an MPEG file? The DVD rippers like DVD Decrypter seem to rip the DVD to an ISO format. Once I have the ISO format how do I convert it to an untouched MPEG file? I don't wanna reencode it to xvid/dvix/other mpeg-4 format.

That's because you have it set to rip in ISO format. You can instead set it to rip in .IFO format, which wil extract only the main movie, or individual episodes, to .VOB files which can be played just like any video file. They are essentially MPEG video files, but you can convert them to actual MPEG-2 files without re-rendering. For that you can use DGIndex to demux the individual streams (if there's more than one audio track) and re-mux them with something like Imago MPEG Muxer. That will save you file space if it has unneeded audio tracks, but otherwise there's no need to change anything for file playback.

Thanks. I managed to change the type to IFO and ripped it, and it produced 3 VOBs. I played them on my Zoom Player w/o any problem, except they're split up into 3 VOBs. How do I join them into a single MPEG?

Just load the corresponding ifo file instead in your preferred player and is should work like played from the DVD.

Thanks. That works with MPC, but Zoom Player, which I normally use, complained that the IFO file is an invalid DVD path. Is there a way I can join them into a single .mpg file rather than deal with 3 VOBs and an IFO?

Under the options, set file splitting of IFO files to none and re-rip. You can also join them with the DOS command - you should be able to search for that yourself.

Just use DGIndex and any Muxer as CWR03 explained a few lines above..
