Unfortunately LinDVD is an OEM-only product. In order to circumvent this it is sold with various super-cheap graphic cards or Linux-distros (Turbolinux?) for around 40 Euros. I'm also setting some hope in a Fluendo-solution; the MPEG-2 decoders are there already.

also it obeys the dictates of other commercial dvd player software.
Meaning the now useless region protection.
So if you stick a disc outside of the default region the player is set to you will find yourself with a limited amount of region changes.
