If someone could tell me, is it AAC format supported by HD-DVD/BlueRay players, and if the answer is yes, which program I should use to make HD-DVD/BlueRay compatible files with AVC video and AAC audio.

L-PCM, Mp2, DTS-HD Base Stream, DTS-HD Extended Stream, Dolby Digital ,
Dolby Digital +, Dolby TrueHD

no aac.. it was rumoured to be the next format for a while. things didnt pan out.

According to Blu-Ray white papers, BD-RE format is supposed to support AAC audio in Japanese HDTV transport streams, but I have yet to see any proof that BD-ROM players support this.

With 50 GB it's simply useless to use AAC (and AVC too).

the smaller the space needed (for the same quality), the more content possible
