How do I stop Media Player Classic's volume control from altering my windows .wav sound slider? If I lower the volume in MPC it lowers the .wav sound slider.

Under Options -> Output make sure "DirectShow Audio" is set to Default DirectSound Device - its probably set to WaveOut Device.
