Hello,

I have tried alot of methods and nearly got everything working for the bbc hd but when i try and encode a file thats quite large (30min/4.5gb) then the programs dont like it. Vdubmod strugles then crashes, same with others.

Does anyone know why this is? I know that windows doesnt like some large files but i thought that only affected fat32 and no ntfs.

any help with this will be much appreciated as usual :D

BBC HD is H264, dgindex wont work with it, and projectx will only handle the audio.

apk what are you using for decoding the h264, as I have no issues with bbc hd at all, i guess from what your saying the problem is with the actual encoding, ie you are encoding to file sizes of 4.5 GB or above, it's strange because i have intermediate files of above 200 GB with no issues.

Acc. to buzzqw's tip try to build graph in graphedit. There is no problem with files over 40GB, but on NTFS hd drives.

EDIT: example graph for 1 step conversion to Xvid .avi you will find at http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=664509#post664509

having read the other topic he started it seems the problem is in loading the actual .ts, rather than the actual encoding step. it sounds like an error in the ts of some kind, which the chosen demuxer in direct show isnt too robust at handling.

What i do is:

1) demux the .ts which gives me filename.264 and filename.ac3
2) use avc2avi for .264 file
3) open with vdubmod

I have tried will smaller file and no problems at all - works really well but just not with this large file.
