View Full Version : CCE trouble making compliant svcd for standalone player

Hi, I am making svcds with cce because it is so fast.
I am having a problem though.
I first rip with smart ripper, then use dvd2avi to make a d2v project using forced film. I then open it in TmpgEnc, and define all my settings using the svcd ntsc forced film template. I save this project file. I open it in vfapi, and produce an avi file which I then load into cce. It is playing with a double chop every 1 second. Thing is, Nero says the stream is 23.976 fps when it burns it and complains that it should be 29.97 fps, I tell it to turn off std compliance and burn. If I encode in tmpgenc, even though the template says it 23.976 fps (same settings I used to create the project file I loaded into vfapi), nero accepts it, and it plays right! What does cce do differently, and why does nero not complain about the tmpgenc stream? I am using all latest versions of all software. Also, I use tmpgenc to multiplex the streams from cce, I use the mpeg2 svcd VBR setting.

Any ideas?

:D Actually this question is explained before, but I have nothing to do so. The *.mpv file that cce creates is 23,97 fps. You have to use the program that is called pulldown to make it 29,97 fps again. Then it shoud work.

So next question, do you know of a utility that can analyse an mpeg stream and tell all info on it. Like fps, bitrate, and res etc etc?

Thanks,

Yeah, read robshot guide. There is a program call bitrate viewer.

Then again, if I pulldown and mux the audio in, stuff is out of sync as the video is 25fps (pal) and audio still is 23.976. How do I avoid this? If there is a thread or a guide on this, pls post the url

tnx

I think you are getting 2 things messed up. If you are ripping a pal dvd why do you rip it in ntsc force in dvd2avi???? and why do you use ntsc force template in tmpeg if yout source is pal??? ntsc use another resolution than pal and a different fps. Ntsc is 29,97 and pal is only 25 fps. You don't use pulldown on a pal source.
I think that you should read the guides here. Because it takes a lot of time to explain everything to you.
Somewhere in doom9 I have seen a link to a guide how to make svcd the aniway 3. It is a good guide. Read it. Or at www.vcdhelp.com there they explain the different between pal and ntsc.
