Oversizing w/ Ver 1.20.5

I attempted to do The Illusionist (Movie Only). Used HC encoder and the movie size came out to 4,730,777,600 bytes which as we know will not fit on a DVD-5. I told ImgBurn to go ahead and write the files and sure enough it did not fit. The only thing I have done differently is I looked at the Mobile Output section but changed nothing and below is the pertinent info. If someone could tell me where to change the size for the encoding i.e. I like 4350 so it keeps it off the outer rim. If I use QuEnc it then undersizes even the default size. Could someone tell me why the difference w/ the 2 encoders. It does look like HC is not sizing properly or I have made a mistake somewhere

What did you use to rip the movie to your HD?

Did you rip the whole disc, not just main movie?

seems a little odd.... high compression level for movie only (63.9%) with high bitrate (5,118Kbs)

Thanks for answering. Used DVDFAB Dec. , Ripit4Me and also DVDD w/ AnyDVD running. Ripped the whole disk to HD. When it failed the first time I just started playing w/ it to figure out what went wrong. There is nothing special on the DVD Disk as far as encryption but this is the 2nd problem in 1 month I have had using the program . I have just uninstalled the program again but this time I have only installed the program w/o the Mobile input.

I picked that DVD up a little while ago (R1, NTSC). I'll give it a test run and see what I can find. I'll run a full backup first to check out standard sizing and then I'll try it "Movie Only".

I completed the backup in "Full Backup" mode and it completed. It was undersized slightly (4.31GB instead of the more typical 4.32GB but well within expected limits). The "Movie Only" is running now, I'll report what I find when it completes.

Thanks for trying the movie but can you give a good guess as to what happened when I initially tried it. I d/l'd the program again but this time w/o the Ipod section and It did fine

It came out ok for me using "Movie Only" and HC... 4.32GB.

It had to be related to settings that got reset when you reinstalled. If you look at the DVD-RB executable you will see that the non-MOBILE and MOBILE versions are identical. The only difference between the two installer packages is the inclusion of the FFMPEG executable.

Thanks for that info. It is working now w/ the new version but I have not been able to get it to duplicate the error so I will give up and say thanks for helping me
