Care to tell us what your minimum, average and maximum bit rates are when encoding? That has more to do with what you're seeing than anything you have told us. Please do not make the mistake of most new people by thinking that the less you tell, the more help you'll get. You'd have been better off to have told us only your bitrate settings than to have included any of the other information you gave us.

mate, if u read my post correctly it's mentioned that i used DVD-RB with CCE. i guess DVD-RB doesn't provide advanced CCE features. it just provides basic features and i've mentioned the ones i used. is there any other way to know bitrate settings?

Ive seen those results in the past when an mpeg is encoded at a one resolution.. but is flagged as another. confuses the heck out of the decoder. for now moving this to dvdrb forum. please supply more info (what version dvdrb) anything else about your process that you think may help.

i am using DVD-RB v1.20.4 & CCE SP2 v1.00.00.10.

DVD source is a DVD-9, NTSC, All Regions, Digital Dolby 5.1 Sound, widescreen anamorphic (16:9 enhanced).

i encoded another DVD using same config. it didn't have square blocks in final output. please let me know if i need to set/change any special parameter for this problem.

CCE SP2 1.0.0.13 has been released with a number of bug fixes relevant to NTSC format. Maybe you should upgrade.

cheers

I'd guess something is wrong with your version of CCE. The only time I've ever seen anything like that was when I ran across a bad disc. I don't know if that even applies in your case -- as Im guessing you're viewing it from the hard drive?

It really looks like a bad disc, or a bad burn, or lots of dust and or scratches on the burn, more likely then a encoder error.
