DV cameras competition

I was reading a post the says that some DV cameras produce artifacts with footage and maybe color distortions. So I would like to know what cameras won't produce these errors and what other things we should look up when we buy a new camera. Leave some recommendations... this would be a good review link for anyone that is new to DV cameras like me that want to avoid future problems with footage.

*All* DV camcorders produce artifacts - it is an inevitable consequence of DCT-based compression. - "Ya can nay change the laws of physics, Captain!"

Also, all DV25 cameras use 12-bit YUV color subsampling, either 4:1:1 or 4:2:0. That can also result in color inaccuracies.
