Which players support the subs in NeroDigital? I've tried mplayer but that does not work.

Also, does anyone know if there will be a Nero 8? It seems like 7 has been around for a while.

haali or gabest mp4 splitter + vsfilter propably works too and doesnt limit you to nero showtime

VLC player should also play the subs.
Of course there will be a Nero 8, but when, I can't comment on that.
