Hi!
A little advice - It's your first post, so you've recently read the rules of these forums, included in which is one that states "Thou shalt not ask, 'What is best'"...
Are you asking about software to make backup copies of DVDs, or about software to convert DVDs to another format? (e.g. DivX-compressed or XviD-compressed .AVIs, true MPEG-4, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, .MOV, etc.)

Ok... then what is the current standard software for one click dvd backup?

Try ripping your DVD(s) using the easy to use "RipIt4me" package (Incorporates RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter, FixVTS, and DVD Shrink). You can download this excellent freeware from:
www.ripit4me.org
While you're at that site, read the excellent "how to" tutorial...

setarip_old mentions what is arguably the easiest freeware method, but it's not exactly "one-click." The only true one-click solutions are commercial, and none of them will yield a quality that the RipIt4Me package and DVD Shrink will give you.

Actually, in addition to the "Wizard" mode that I prefer to use, the "RipIt4Me" package certainly does include an alternative "One-click" mode...

I can only assume you haven't tried it - the one-click mode of RipIt4Me still requires a few clicks to set up the process before clicking the "1-click" button, and when that's done and DVD Shrink is open it's still a matter of making your selections within DVD Shrink, completing that process and burning the files.

This is exactly the kind of post that spawned the "do not ask what's best" rule. It's not objective, it's an opinion stated as fact.
