Anyone recommend a scheduler to work with, for instance, virtualdub.
Something with a friendly interface to suit family members who are computerphobes would be great!
I am capturing from a Plextor M402U. I have seen some posts about schedulers but some are a bit dated.

I believe that model also uses WDM drivers. It might be more beneficial to use something like VirtualVCR which will take advantage of those drivers (as opposed to VirtualDub which uses VfW drivers). A setup guide can be found here (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/capture/capturing_VirtualVCR.html) with the link for a free capturer here (http://www.zisoft.de/video/). Also know that since VirtualVCR can be launched via command line, windows scheduler (or any other scheduling software for that matter) can be used. See this (http://virtualvcr.sourceforge.net/html/virtualvcr/timed.php) page for more info.

Dear nolly, sweetheart;
I know it's hard work to look only 5 posts down but maybe you're able to do this. Good Luck

Darling olnima,
I take it that you recommend it as a scheduler suitable for computerphobes?

Is it too much work just to download about 300k, try it out and see for yourself if it's o.k. for You or not? It's also possible to ask some questions about it here if there are things that you do not understand. Every software needs a bit of brain to get use to it, once You did it You love it, I promise!

P.S.:: May be good to know that this software doesn't need any installation.

/eedit: Every scheduler needs some time for setting everything up. Once You did this You only have to "use it" and that pretty simple.

I found that Virtualdub-mpeg 1.6.16 DOES support WDM devices and tuner settings!
