So, technically, I guess I'm not a newbie. I was using the combination of DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to backup movies for a couple of years. And then recently, one of hard drives I had running in RAID 0 that was my system drive went down, and I have had to start all over with a fresh install of Windows on a IDE drive, losing all my software.

I tried to backup Talladega Nights last night, and DVD Decrypter couldn't handle it. Errored out. So, I downloaded and tried DVDFab Decrypter for the first time. Worked well.

So, then I had to replace Nero so I could burn it with DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15. First, I installed Nero 6.6.0.13, before finding 7.5.9.0A. So, I installed it. Tried to burn with DVD Shrink. Got an error saying:

So, I figured that this new Nero didn't work with the version of DVD Shrink that I have, and reverted back to the Nero 6 that I had installed. Tried that. Same error. Now I just really would like to know what versions I need to get back to where I used to be. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Your DMA is off. A full log would be helpful.

Turn your DMA back on.

What brand of discs are you using?
What speed are you burning at?

@SmoovySmoov

Hi!

You should remove your NERO serial number from your first post...

I've gone to Device Manager, and it says that both my DVD Drive, and my burner that are on that Primary Channel are set at "Let BIOS select transfer mode" and they both are set on "Ultra DMA 2 - Ultra 33". But I did see that in the log where it says DMA is turned off. Suggestions?

In the Device Manager (via the Control

Panel>>System>>Hardware>>Device Manager), you simply

have to remove the applicable IDE channel (Click on

"IDE...Controllers") and let your computer reset it to DMA as

follows:
Right click on the pertinent channel in Device Manager
Click on uninstall
Reboot
After rebooting go back to Device Manager and change the

setting to "DMA if available"...

I did this, and when I went back to Device Manager, it was set exactly the same, with the settings above. Furthermore, "DMA if available" isnt even an option. =(

Still having this problem. I had another burner lying around. An NEC DL DVD+-RW that I hadn't installed just because I hadn't found cheap media for it yet. I had tried all the above suggestions to get the DMA back on for the Plextor Drive with no results, so I installed this drive today. Same result. Got the same exact error message above, except for the new NEC burner listed instead of the Plextor. Furthermore, went to properties on the IDE channel, and it says Ultra DMA 2 - Ultra 33 for both the DVD Drive and the burner.

Thoughts??? Is it just a bad copy of Nero, or what? Really wishing I could burn stuff here.

Is it just a bad copy of Nero, or what? Are you asking whether the publisher, Ahead Software, sold you a fouled program (Versus the hundreds of thousands of versions they've sold)?

Perhaps go to Microsoft downloads and search for "sony rootkit."
