Hi all,

Just wondering if anone can help me. The attached encoded clip was done using TMPGEnc Plus 2.5. It is a 29.97 fps clip as was the original avi file.

I have tried nearly all the tips I have found in various FAQ's such as changing the field order etc ..... I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do next.

I do live in a PAL country (Australia) and have read that this problem can be just part of viewing a NTSC clip, however it looks quite bad o me and I assume there must be a way of fixing it. (It happens on the PC and also on my stand alone DVD players).

Thanks for any advice guys.

There's no attachment.

Anyway, giving us the encoded result is pointless. We need the source material.

Speaking of which, what is the source material and how did you make it?

If it is 3:2 pulled down, you should perform IVTC on it to avoid judder during pans.

Greetings,
I am a DVD authorer in the US and I just had a client in Austrailia complain about how the NTSC DVD I gave him looks jumpy during pans on his computers and laptops. Is there a special player I can recomend that will clear that up? Are there some techniques I can use on my end to forgo this issue?

Thanks so much in advance!

There is a program on the net called pulldown.exe. This can be
used to change the field order bit in your mpeg stream. This assumes that your stream is infact interlaced.

@ doublerig:

computers are no different here than in the US, except the power supply is switched to 240v, 50Hz. so you should be able to test it on your own machine for jerky. the majority of DVD players and TVs here support both formats.

it might be field order though, but if it plays alright on your end in the same software just tell them not to be so wet :)
