You can use DVD Shrink. In the preferences uncheck Split VOB files into 1GB size chunks.

cross_syd, all of your questions have been asked and answered many times before, and there are comprehensive guides on the various programs available here. No one can decide for you which program to use when there are several programs that perform the same task - it's up to you to try one or more to decide which best suits your preferences or needs.

I can help on some of your questions which are difficult to answer with Search...most disks can be ripped with DVD Decrypter, and when it's set to .IFO mode with file splitting set to "None," you'll get only one .VOB file. Many programs, such as AutoGK, will let you load the main movie's .IFO which will load all the pertaining .VOB files into the program as if they were one file.
