Hello all,

I have an avi cap, 720x480 DV, of a film that I would like to convert back to letterbox and burn to DVD. When it comes to using avisynth i am still very much a neophyte. I have been told to crop 60 pixels from the top and bottom then add black to replace the cropped part and am hoping for some help here.
The thing is that when loading the avi file into Vdub, there are approximately 103 black lines on the top and bottom. So my question is what is the best way to take this film out of the 4x3 resolution and convert it 16x9 letterboxed? I would also like to convert this back to a progressive film source to do away with some interlace combing I am seeing. Is this advisable to do? I would like to get the best quality possible with the source that I have.
So can some kind soul help me out here with a script or some pointers as to what I need to do?
Thanks,
Mark
