Happy newyear!!

I try to backup a DVD, but it failed 2 times in a row... DVD-RB crashes in phase III (rebuilding).

I do have the encoded (temporarily) files, but how can I use them to do only the REBUILD phase??

Thanks,
S

That error means "can't find specified file."

It appears that somehow the source disc has become inaccessible in the middle of processing. It was most likely either unmounted -- or the files were deleted. At any rate -- it happened at some point after the file in question was successfully opened and two segments were processed.

The last two errors mean "disc not ready" -- which substantiates the "unmounted" theory.

In both cases the error messages are being reported by DVD-RB, but were actually encountered by the operating system.

The files in the "temporary" directory aren't enough to rebuild. You still need the original source (or a ripped copy of the source) in order to reintegrate the audio during the REBUILD phase.

If you post the content of your REBUILDER.INI it may help.

OK, found out myself... :stupid:

Triggered by this thread...

... i was smart enough to deselect in DVD-RB the "One click mode", so this allowed me to execute only the 'rebuild' phase.

Result: a nicely build DVD.

[edit]
@ JDOBBS: you posted when I was replying. To follow up on the above: i rebooted my machine and then executed DVD-RB again. It nicely read again the settings/files for OBJECTIVE_BURMA, and therefore the REBUILD phase went fine. I dunno what caused the "unmounted" situation (even twice in a row; I have to find out), but I am happy I was able to finalize this DVD in a rather short time (avoiding the time-consuming recoding part).
Thanks again for providing such a nice tool!

BTW: the [status] section doesn't exist anymore in the most recent versions of DVD-RB??

Glad it worked out. Nothing has changed in regard to the status display. There is a little difference in what you see between the freeware version and the Professional Edition.

Not really important, but to clarify my question on the [status] section: I intended to refer to the *.ini file.

I got that info from the thread i mentioned before

Exit from DVD-RB
Edit the Rebuilder.inf file [Status] section, changing the Progress=2 line to Progress=3.
Re enter in the application in order to fetch the changes...
Now the rebuild button should be enabled...

^^ I could not find this section in the *.ini anymore, hence my question.
After reading that particular thread completely, I realized that I was using DVD-RB in the 1-click mode....

That isn't in the INI file. It is in the INF file, located in the working directory.
