hi Everybody,
Is there a way to add black borders (the way LetterBox does it for AVI) to an existing MPEG-2 file without having to reencode it ?

Do you mean you have a 4:3 picture and want to overlay black bars, or do you have an anamorphotic picture that should be resized? You can use ifoedit to set the 16:9 bits correctly. But i don't know a tool that can edit video areas in a mpeg2 stream.

You'll have to re-encode.
