I used Nero to make a copy of a DVD that I purchased of my son's high school chorus concert. (Some local company filmed and produced these discs.) The copy plays on both my computer and on my desktop DVD player. But since the DVD burner is new, I decided to do a CRC check of the files on the copy. It turned up several CRC errors in the BUPs and VOBs.

Thinking I had a bad burn, I checked the original DVDs that I purchased (there were actually two) and BOTH originals had CRC errors in the BUPS and VOBS!

I read on this forum that sometimes copy protection schemes might cause CRC errors on a DVD, but I have no indication that the discs are copy protected. Like I said, Nero copied them, no problem.

So, what should I make of these errors? Should I be worried?

Thanks!

If the disks play, then no. They could be failing, or if they have adhesive labels they could be warping the disk.
