CompTest will use the selected codec/profile/avs_profile and will replace the encoding mode to CRF 18 or CQ 2 (depending on the codec - it doesnt support snow) using the same remaining settings choosen in the codec profile.
After running the CT the gray "Quality" text will be replaced by a green HQ, yellow AVG or red LQ text depending on the choosen filesize.
Suggestions are welcome...

would be nice to see suggested resolution based on given size
better would be automatic matrix selection and automatic filter (please don't hit me) selection
also the ct test should be integrated in automated encoding

uhm... the resolution could be automatically adjusted but matrices and filters are too much "subjective".
CT is really hard to integrate in other auto-encode... and i can assure you it is already hard to integrate it into oneclick encoder due to the megui code structure...

I think it would be good idea to suggest as much as possible. While we can all agree there will be no way in hell the suggestions will be optimal, for the beginning encoder or the time-short encoder they will provide valuable 'ball park' information. The point of a 1click is to do the best possible with the least amount of work, and I think 'guessing', or at least suggesting all of the above aspects will be beneficial.
Having said that, make sure you output the raw CT data somewhere, even just to the log window so people can do their own calculations, rather than rely on something as subjective as "good", "ok" or "bad" :)

Suggesting the resolution is just the best thing i can do.
I can also show the quality % at the choosen filesize instead of bad/ok/good... (it's even less line of code:p).
The raw CT data would be useless for the 99% of people using the OneClick encoder...
The "advanced" users would use the AutoEncode feature or even do everything manually...

It doesn't make sense to run the compressibility test from the one click config dialog -- this is supposed to be a place to configure profiles for general use, not to customise them for individual sources. In fact, while I agree that the compressibility check should be in one click, I think it shouldn't be explicitly run, since that violates the 'One Click' behavior. Better would be to run the compressibility check automatically if any of the following (currently inexistant) settings were enabled:
Choose filesize for me (not recommended for x264)
Choose resolution for me (only possible if filesize is fixed)
In these two cases, MeGUI would run the compressibility check and use it to choose either of those two things, as necessary. Of course, the mode of choice could be customised by allowing the user to choose the target quality %.
I also think MeGUI should have a tool for the compressibility check, designed for the users who want more control. However, I'm still thinking about the details.

Do you still consider adding the CompTest for some new versions?
Suggesting resolution and showing the percentage seems like a really good guidance for me -- hopefully I'm not the only one thinking it... ;)
Thank you for the preview!

Sounds like a great idea to me, especially showing the percentage.
