I heard on the internet that Windows XP x64 will get Service Pack 2 soon. Is it true.

I can't provide link to this news.

I can: http://www.msblog.org/2006/06/28/windows-server-2003-windows-xp-x64-service-pack-2-beta/ and http://www.msblog.org/2006/10/19/beta-refresh-2-for-windows-server-2003-service-pack-2-is-released/

Since XP x64 is basically server 2003 x64 without the server components, the same service packs apply to both. And business customers have been really pushing for SP2.

It'll probably be released around when SP3 for XP x86 is released, probably in spring or summer, since pretty much everything else got totally sidelined these past 6 months with the Vista release.

Yup.

SP2 update applies to:

• Windows Server 2003 All Editions (32-bit x86)

...

• Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions
• Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
