Auto update goes down frequently now, because of the amount of traffic that auto-update generates. I'm working on a version which chooses from many mirrors, so as to distribute the load, and I now ask people to provide mirrors for this.
It would need to provide http read access, and preferably ftp write access.

How much traffic are we talking about?

a LOT...
however maybe i can provide it on january.
i can also provide a temporary host (hope it has enough bandwidth).
This is a modified build of MeGUI core (0.2.4.1018) that runs auto-update on my temp host: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=119783

there are 2 autoupdate servers. the megui.org server and the mewiki server (that hosts both megui wiki and another autoupdate server).
then there is my personal (and unofficial) autoupdate server (hosted on my ISP space) i try to keep up to date, but it will be shut down soon since i terminated any deals with that provider...

I have some space and bandwidth available, so if you're interested just send me a message. Do you have any idea how much bandwidth you would need?

All though that would be a great idea, but probably not very easy to implement.
