ColorMatrix & Interlace & MeGUI

Just a quickie,

Everyone (inc MeGUI) just seems to use on interlaced media:

ColorMatrix(hints=true)
#detinterlacing to follow...

But the ColorMatrix program says you should specify interlaced for interlaced input?

ColorMatrix(hints=true, interlaced=true)
#detinterlacing to follow...

Is there a reason why we don't specify interlaced?
