Recently an odd thing is happening that I cant figure out yet.
I can burn DVDs with Liteon burner to DVD-R that work fine on both of my computers as well as everyone elses computer. However the disks will skip on many video players.

I have tried both Memorex and Ridata disks that have been fine in the past. Today i was at at some friends house and one of them can play them fine on her TV with new player. They skip on the other older player. But this is what we cant figure out. She can copy my disks on her computer, that also has a Liteon burner, and burn them and they work fine on the player that my original disk skips on. This must indicate my disk isnt defective. I have also checked my disks at all stages for errors and have none that show.

She did use a TDK disk though. Other than that, we both use Nero 6 with the same settings, and use the same OS. Only thing that we havent tried so far is to burn one on my other computer which also has a Liteon burner, and have her burn something to one of my disks.

Any ideas on this? I do have the latest firmware on my burners, I also ran the laser disk cleaner disk on my drive.

It's quite simple - Not all burnable media is compatible with all players...

Is it a double layer DVD-Video? There are incredible difficulties with dual layer DVD-Rs. Use only double layer DVD+Rs.
Anyway, try to burn with ImgBurn (free). Usually, it gives better results than Ner0.

The problem turned out to be the burner.

The problem turned out to be the burner. And did you resolve the problem by cleaning, repairing, or replacing it?
