Can't get audio to play on websites.

Hey guys. I just got DSL, which is great! But I can't hear the audio of movies on Youtube, google, yahoo or others. I got a message saying I need flash. So I downloaded it, installed it, and no audio is playing. I am running Firefox. IE doesn't work either.

Any help would be appreciated.

I also can't seem to hear streaming .ram files.
Edit: fixed this. The audio was not being routed through DirectSound. Do you think that this is the same problem?

Never mind. fixed the issue with a registry entry.
