I used Ashampoo Burning studio to burn a DVD..at the end of it, it says video burning process successful, but the disc won't play on my DVD player!

Why is that so?

You have to provide more info.

What media did you use? Is it a DL-DVD? What have you burned exactly? Are you sure your standalone player supports the media type (DVD-R, DVD+R, RW, DL)?

Also, I don't know Ashampoo Burning studio, but you should try ImgBurn. It is undoubtedly the best DVD-Video burning program so far... and it is free!

No, it's only a DVD burner, highly specialized in DVD-Video.
But I suppose you can convert your files with your favourite program, and save them in a folder instead of burning them directly, and burn that folder later with ImgBurn.

1) It would be good if you answer the questions asked of you by "r0lZ":What media did you use? Is it a DL-DVD? What have you burned exactly? Are you sure your standalone player supports the media type (DVD-R, DVD+R, RW, DL)?

2) In light of your statement that your burner doesn/t detect discs, it sounds like a hardware problem may be the cause of your burning problems as well

3) Have you used this system, including this burner, to successfully burn DVDs previously?

Try going into device manager and removing the driver for the DVD drive (highlight it, right click, then select Uninstall). Then reboot and allow the driver to be reinstalled.
