First off, I would like to say thank you for all the help doom9 has been giving me for the last 3 years, top notch support!

Now the problem. I have been using DVD Decypter for about 3 years, never had a problem. With a house full of kids, it is important to back up my DVD's; they always seem to get scratches:( So this program is wonderful and has saved me bundles of cash in not having to rebuy DVD's that get scratched. However, as of recent DVD Decrypter is not fully burning my DVD's after DVD Shrink. The last 15-30 minutes of all my DVD's now will not play. When I flip the disc over, I can visually see that the outer edge of the disc is a different color, it appears it is not fully doing its job. DVD Decrypter always finishes the burn as says the job is complete and successful, however all of my discs won't play the end.

Has anyone else heard or experienced this? Since the program can no longer be dloaded I feel that some component has failed or is errored. Some help or recommendations would be appreciated. Again thank you in advance for the help.

If you use for burning Try ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) It is coded by the same person and it is better and newer.
You might even get support from the author.
And you can use A different version of dvdshrink if that what you use to burn with imgburn

dirio49-

I dloaded imgburn and attempting to burn a DVD using the program, I will let you know how it turns out.

I already have that version of DVD Shrink, I don't need a second one do I?

Thanks for the program recommendation!

I am getting errors when I run this program. Maybe DVD Decrypter was just running through this without giving me errors. It says:

I/O Error!

Device: (my DVD burner)
ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

Then there is alot of numbers and letters. What do you guys think? Is it my DVD burner? Could the lense be dirty? Is that what it means?

There is three options when this pops up: Cancel, Try again, continue. When I hit try again, it just does it again. When I hit Continue it just pops up again. What do I do?

You need better media and to ensure your firmware is up to date.

Thread transferred to DVD Burning.

Hello everyone!

I appears I have fixed the problem. A simple lense cleaning seems to have been the solution. I have been able to burn two movies so far with no errors. I am working on the third right now. Thanks for the program link to imgburn, I am using that now.

Your simple questions caused me to think about it myself. I have not cleaned my lense in 2 YEARS!!!! Directions read to clean every 10 hours of use. Stupid me!

Thanks everyone for the input!:thanks:
