Hello everybody!

I'm evaluating CCE SP (and SP2 for that matter) and I'm trying to figure out how to force interlaced output. My source is progressive and all my test encodes so far have also been progressive but I need to generate interlaced MPEG.

I figure that there is a fairly straightforward setting somewhere but I can't seem to find it.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forum,

What happens when you uncheck the Progressive Frame box in the Picture Quality window? Won't that set it to encode as interlaced?

If you're talking about actually adding interlacing to your movie (i. e., seeing interlaced frames when advancing frame by frame in VDubMod), then that's something else. But you can easily encode a progressive source as interlaced. Just ask any PAL guy.

Speaking of which, are you PAL or NTSC? Interlaced NTSC should be encoded at 29.97fps for DVD.

Hello Manono!

I could have sworn that I tried that several times before. In any case, you are correct, un-checking the Progressive Frame Box in the picture quality menu does create interlaced output.

Thanks!
